Singapore, 18 July 2012 - The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) was alerted to the collapse of the scaffold that supported the casting of permanent roof slab for the new underground linkway, which connects to the existing Bugis MRT station. Our engineers were at the project site to investigate. The Qualified Person* for the project has assessed that the collapse is localised and there are no structural safety concerns on the surrounding buildings and the road above. BCA has revoked the construction permit for the Downtown Line Bugis station linkway site while further investigations are ongoing.
