All windows must be installed or retrofitted by a trained window installer. A trained window installer is an individual certified by BCA to carry out window works.
The trained window installer must not install, supervise or guide the installation of windows unless he is a director, partner, sole proprietor or an employee of an approved window contractor or a builder.
Offenders may face a penalty of up to $5,000 or jail term of up to six months or to both.
Duties
The trained window installer must carry out window works in compliance with the objectives and performance requirements set out in the Building Control Regulations.
