Documents Required for Application

Your application will not be processed without the submission of the required documents. All required documents and drawings have to be endorsed clearly where applicable, by:

  • Applicant (the Licensee)
  • Building owner and/or Landowner
  • Management Corporation
  • HDB and Town Council

The documents to be submitted include the following:

Details

Visuals of the proposed sign with position of the licence number

To verify if the sign is an advertisement or a signboard

Elevation plan of the display location with dimensions of the proposed sign indicated

To ensure there is no proliferation of the sign display that could mar the streetscape

Sectional view on the method of fixing and materials used for the proposed sign

To ensure that the sign is structurally safe to be on display

Layout plan showing the relative position of the sign display to buildings, roads or other landmarks

To ensure that the sign is appropriately displayed at the location, taking into consideration the nearby developments and landmarks

Site plan showing the location of the lot on which the signage is to be erected / exhibited

To illustrate the exact position of the sign at the proposed display location

Declaration Form and photos of the premises showing all the other signboards

Declaration by the applicant that his application qualifies for a one-time 5m2 signboard exemption

Consent letter from land/building owner

To ensure the land/building owner allow your proposed sign to be display on their property

Clearance from relevant agencies

Where applicable

Relevant government land managing agencies, for display of signage on government lands

For example:

  • Land Transport Authority
  • Singapore Land Authority

When the sign is displayed on any part of the premises within the MCST

If applicant is:

A subsidiary proprietor owning a lot in the MCST (“Owner”)

  • Written consent from the MCST that they agree the sign(s) can be displayed on the property
  • All required documents and drawings endorsed clearly by:
    • MCST
    • Owner

A tenant of a lot in the MCST (“Tenant”)

  • Written consent from:
    • MCST
    • Lot owner
    • Landlord (if not, the Lot Owner) that they agree the sign(s) can be displayed on the property
  • All required documents and drawings endorsed clearly by:
    • MCST
    • Lot owner
    • Landlord (if not, the Lot Owner)
    • Tenant

When the sign is displayed at commercial units in areas managed by Town Council

If applicant is:

Documents required

Owner of a commercial unit (“Owner”)

  • Written consent from Town Council that they agree the sign(s) can be displayed on the property
  • All required documents and drawings endorsed clearly by:
    • Town Council
    • Owner

Tenant of a commercial unit (“Tenant”)

  • Written consent from:
    • Town Council
    • Commercial Unit Owner
    • Landlord(s) (if not, the Commercial Unit Owner) that they agree the sign can be displayed on the property
  • All required documents and drawings clearly endorsed by:
    • Town Council
    • Commercial Unit Owner
    • Landlord (if not, the Commercial Unit Owner)
    • Tenant

When the sign is displayed at all other types of properties

If applicant is:

Owner of a property (“Owner”)

All required documents and drawings endorsed by the Owner

Tenant of a property (“Tenant”)

  • Written consent from the:
    • Property Owner
    • Landlord (if not, the Property Owner) that they agree the sign can be displayed on the property
