For existing students under the iBuildSG Scholarship and Sponsorship programme (awarded in 2022 & earlier)

Are you an existing student of the iBuildSG Scholarship and Sponsorship Programme? On this page, you will find information on the bond obligations and commencement process and how to claim your training grant or retention incentives.
iBuildSG Scholarship and Sponsorship: Important notes for 2022 or earlier cohorts
The iBuildSG scholarship and sponsorship programmes have ceased since 2022 with no new cycles.

This page is only for students awarded in 2022 or earlier who are still serving their bonds or claiming incentives.
For Bond Commencement
When searching for employment, please ensure that job roles and companies meet the criteria below. This will help avoid delays in bond commencement.
Approval from BCA is required for both your job role and company before bond commencement can be accepted.
Criteria to fulfil for serving of bond:
Role requirement: The job role must be a Built Environment (BE) related position.
For clarification on what constitutes a BE job, please refer to the Skills Framework for BE [PDF, 36 KB]
Company requirement: The company must be an approved BE firm, defined as:
A Singapore-registered firm (see ACRA Registration) that is recognised by BCA as operating within Singapore's building and construction industry.
Listed in the possible sources of approved firms [PDF, 203 KB]
Important - please note the following:
You must obtain BCA's confirmation that your employment offer meets the required criteria before accepting the position.
Please send us the specific link to your prospective firm's listing from possible sources of approved firms [PDF, 203 KB] directory
Government ministries and statutory boards (for example MOM, LTA, URA, HDB, NEA, JTC, etc.) are not considered Approved Firms.
Please complete the Bond Commencement Form after you have obtained BCA’s approval to accept job offer.
After you have obtained BCA’s approval and secured your employment, please complete the relevant form below and provide us the full, signed employment contract for our records.
For Training Grants/ Retention Incentives claims
This applies to Singapore Residents (Citizens and Permanent Residents) who were awardees between 2018-2020, subject to the Terms and Conditions stipulated in your deeds. Please check with BCA to confirm your eligibility.
1. Training Grant for CET Courses – Up to $3000
Claim Eligibility
Eligible awardees must have completed their bonds and meet all of the following requirements:
Employment Status: You must be in a BE job role and in the BE sector (as per BCA's definition and verification).
Course Enrolment: You are enrolled in a course in the List of Approved Courses [PDF, 502 KB]^ (for Stage 2 Training Grant claims) within 3 years of the date of bond completion. Claims are subject to fund availability: either until your eligible training grant funds are exhausted or until the CITM fund for this programme ceases, whichever occurs first.
Out-of-Pocket Expenses: Claims must be for your own out-of-pocket expenses (after government subsidy and company sponsorship, if any).

2. Retention Incentives of $7000
Claim Eligibility
Eligible awardees may claim after completing an additional 1 year of employment following bond completion in a BE job role and BE sector (as per BCA's definition and verification), or until the CITM fund for this programme ceases, whichever occurs first.
Required Documentation:
You must submit proof of bond completion and evidence of employment in a BE job role within the BE sector.
