Singapore buildings are designed to withstand distant tremors. During earth tremors in Singapore, stay calm, follow safety tips, and contact SCDF or BCA for help.

As Singapore lies outside earthquake zones, its buildings are generally safe from earthquakes. However, from time to time, buildings may experience tremors from Sumatra, Indonesia. Nevertheless, Singapore’s buildings are designed to withstand tremors caused by distant earthquakes.
What to do during earth tremors
When a tremor occurs, stay calm and take the following precautions:
If you are indoors
Take cover under a table.
Do not use a naked flame.
Do not use the lift.
If you are outdoors
Remain in the open until the tremor stops; this will keep you safe from the risk of falling debris.
Stay away from buildings.
