Pre-construction survey and communication plan for landed development

Before construction, the builder shall conduct pre-construction surveys. Where the development is landed property, the builder shall also notify the neighbours. Find guidelines and forms here.

What to do before you build

Before starting any demolition, piling, foundation, tunnelling, or site formation works, you must carry out a pre-construction survey to establish the condition of nearby existing buildings and structures.

How to carry out the survey

Communication plan for landed property

Before starting on building works for landed property, you must also inform the neighbours and obtain written consent for access where necessary.

If there are concreting of any new RC wall abutting to the existing party or boundary wall, the builder shall also notify BCA using the notification forms during permit application.

For submission to BCA during permit application:

  • Annex 2: Notification to Commissioner of Building Control (CBC) on Communication Plan

  • Annex 2: Notification to CBC on Status of Pre-Construction Survey

  • Annex 2: Notification to CBC on Consent for Access

  • Annex 2: Notification to CBC on Concreting for RC Wall Abutting Existing Party or Boundary Wall
