The plan comprises a three-stage roadmap that charts out the different digital solutions, which you can adopt at each phase of your company’s growth.
Co-developed by Building and Construction Authority and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the Construction and Facilities Management Industry Digital Plan (IDP) offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) access to digital solutions as well as training expertise and financial support.
Is your company a local SME in the Construction and Facilities Management sector, and looking to be digital-ready? If so, the Construction and Facilities Management IDP is set to give you a leg-up.
Launched in March 2020, the Construction and Facilities Management IDP aims to bridge the gap in digital skills and capabilities among stakeholders and boost collaboration in the built environment sector.
It works as a guide for local SMEs to digitalise your businesses, plug skill gaps and participate in industry pilot projects.
Who is it for?
The IDP applies if you are a local SME in the following disciplines within the Construction and Facilities Management sector:
- Architecture
- Construction Management
- Digital Delivery Management
- Engineering
- Facility Management
- Production Management
- Project Management
- Quantity Surveying
How does it work?
The plan comprises a three-stage roadmap that charts out the different digital solutions that you can adopt at each phase of your company’s growth, as well as the relevant training programmes required to enhance employees’ digital skill sets.
The first stage is to help SMEs get ready for the digital economy and lists the basic digital solutions to stay competitive. Your company can adopt solutions that help unlock higher productivity and tap on new opportunities from Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD).
In the second and third stages, you can look forward to digital solutions that offer greater integration across the Construction and Facilities Management life-cycle, and leverage on Artificial Intelligence and robotics to yield greater benefits.
Training and financial support
The IDP also provides a training roadmap to ensure that you are equipped with the necessary skills and mindset to benefit from digital transformation.
To facilitate the learning journey, your company can choose from a suite of digital solutions that have been market-tested and proven to be cost-effective.
These pre-approved solutions are supported under the Productivity Solutions Grant until end-January 2023. Under the Grant, your company could defray up to 70% of the cost of adopting these solutions, subject to a grant cap of $30,000 per firm. You can apply through the Business Grants Portal.
To bolster the built environment sector during the COVID-19 period, the maximum funding support level will be raised to 80% for firms who apply between 1 April 2020 and 31 December 2020.
Under the plan, your company can also participate in digital sector projects that pilot new digital technology solutions that can potentially benefit entire sectors.
Aligned to the Construction Industry Transformation Map, the Construction and Facilities Management IDP is part of IMDA’s SMEs Go Digital programme. The IDP is supported by SkillsFuture Singapore, Ministry of Manpower and is created in consultation with industry players.
