This SGBC learning journey is made possible by SGBC members Kajima Development and Singapore Polytechnic, to explore the frontiers of smart buildings and how cutting-edge technologies such as sensors, actuators and AI are transforming traditional infrastructure. Using the GEAR building as a case study to delve into how these technologies can address occupant needs in real-time, enhancing comfort, efficiency, and overall well-being. Mr Luke Wu, Managing Director of The GEAR, Kajima Development, will be sharing about the Construction Robotics Lab, Urban Space Creation Display, Digital Tech Lab and K/Park which is a naturally ventilated (NV) modular space with flexible configurations to different conditions.

Cities of Tomorrow Research & Development (CoT R&D) Programme Pre-Grant Call 5 Briefing

CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) 4th Edition Information Session

The CSXC is back! The CSXC 4th Edition info session is hosted by SGBC, in partnership with their founding member CapitaLand. CSXC aims to source globally for emerging solutions and advance collaboration in sustainability within the urban environment. It also provides an opportunity for innovators to showcase and profile solutions to make the urban environment more climate-resilient and resource-efficient. Through the challenge, innovators can stand a chance to i) pilot, test and implement innovations within CapitaLand’s buildings, with over S$1 million to cover the cost of piloting all the chosen innovation(s), ii) gain access to local and global markets with expert mentoring on strategy and approach, and iii) implement forward-looking solutions for asset types including retail office, lodging, business parks, industrial, logistics, data centres, and construction sites. Building Resilience (BR) Industry Dialogue 2024 (by invitation only)

The yearly BR industry dialogue session brings together Professional Engineers (PE) and Competent Persons (CP) active in the Periodic Façade Inspection (PFI) and Periodic Structural Inspection (PSI) domains. BCA will be sharing observations from enhanced PSI requirements, learning points from ageing building inspections, and new regulation updates on façade inspectors’ (FI) responsibilities. Speakers from Viscoy and Kajima have been invited to share inspection technologies such as ceiling robots, indoor drones with mapping capabilities, and innovation repair methods on spalling concrete.
