Study on the Built Environment Workforce in Singapore

This study builds on the findings from the Skills Framework for the BE sector, to help BE stakeholders better appreciate the effects of industry transformation on the BE workforce. Such industry transformation, and the resultant changes to work processes across the value chain will help enhance the working environment and job prospects for BE professionals. Employers and stakeholders within the sector can take reference from the report’s recommendations and self-help dashboards to embark on HR enhancement, job redesign, and skills enhancement.

The study has consolidated input from close to 130 firms across the BE sector. The study findings show that there is a strong impetus for 3’I’s – Industry, Institutes of Higher Learning (or IHLs) and Individuals, to come together and transform the way the BE sector operates, that includes embracing new digital technologies.
