Grants and funded programmes
Explore support for enterprise growth, technology and manpower development and sustainability to help firms innovate and thrive in a future-ready Built Environment.

Across the Built Environment sector, firms are embracing innovation, building smarter, and designing a more inclusive and sustainable future with the support of BCA. Grants and funded programmes provide targeted support for businesses to grow in key transformation areas. They help firms build capabilities necessary to thrive in tomorrow’s built environment. Whether you are investing in sustainability or rethinking operations, structured and progressive funding support is available to support you.
Accessibility
Although baseline requirements for accessibility have to be complied with for new buildings and existing buildings undergoing building works, owners of existing buildings should also periodically evaluate and consider voluntary upgrades to better position their building to support diverse user needs. Creating accessible spaces future-proof infrastructure, caters to a wider customer demographic and provides an enhanced user experience.
The Accessibility Fund co-funds the construction costs of essential user-friendly features to meet the needs of building users.
Enterprise, Technology and Manpower
Businesses need to transform holistically, develop new capabilities in enterprise, technology and manpower to grow and stay competitive.
Enterprise growth includes employing new business processes such as lean construction and collaborative contracting. Firms also need to leverage advanced technologies such as Robotics and Automation (R&A), Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA), and Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) to improve consistency and efficiency, reducing costly reworks. They also need to build manpower capabilities strategically, including upskilling, job redesign and tapping into new recruitment channels to obtain a higher skilled workforce.
Schemes such as the Built Environment Technology and Capability (BETC) grant help support progressive BE firms in the next phase of industry transformation. The Growth and Transformation Scheme (GTS) aim to foster strategic alliances in the built environment sector, to bring about mutual benefits across the value chain.
Research and innovation
Responding to market shifts and meeting energy standards are necessary to stay relevant in the sector. However, businesses that want to shape the future must look ahead. For example, firms that partner with research institutions to develop valuable AI-driven inspection tools, developers who turn to smart energy management systems designed for Singapore’s tropical climate get better results.
Programmes such as the Built Environment Technology Alliance (BETA) and the Cities of Tomorrow (CoT) promote resilience and open doors to new opportunities.
Sustainability
Designing with sustainability is no longer optional. Energy efficiency, water conservation, and emissions control are necessary in the Built Environment sector. Developers who go green secure a competitive advantage, improve building performance, and reduce maintenance costs.
Schemes such as the Green Mark Incentive Scheme (GMIS) and the Green Buildings Innovation Cluster (GBIC) help firms manage upfront investment in achieving higher performance standards.
