Productivity Gateway Framework
The Productivity Gateway Framework facilitates the adoption of advanced construction technologies and progressive practices to raise productivity and reduce manpower utilisation in public sector projects.

The adoption of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) in the public sector is primarily guided by the Productivity Gateway Framework (PGF). Introduced in 2015 and enhanced in 2024, the PGF provides Government Procuring Entities (GPEs) with a structured approach to drive fundamental changes towards greater productivity improvement and manpower reduction through:
Early integration of productivity considerations during project planning
Implementation of efficient construction technologies and practices throughout project execution
The current PGF emphasises several focus areas to complement DfMA adoption and drive further productivity improvement:
Greater standardisation of designs and components across projects to raise manufacturing efficiency and ease of assembly
Robotics and Automation (R&A) adoption, supported by process re-engineering, to boost productivity for on-site works
Progressive procurement approaches, including Collaborative Contracting, to strengthen early-stage planning and enhance stakeholder collaboration
