About Green Mark v7.0
Green Mark v7.0 is the next refresh of Singapore’s Green Mark certification scheme. It responds to industry feedback with more pathways, greater flexibility and more options for the industry to meet our sustainability ambition. Green Mark continues to be a key lever supporting the Singapore Green Building Masterplan and the sector’s longer-term energy and carbon goals.

What’s New in Green Mark v7.0
The headline changes below are summarised from the GM v7.0 industry briefing. Detailed criteria will be published separately for download.
1. BCA Energy Rating A new energy-performance-only pathway to make it easier for more existing buildings to improve energy performance and attain certification. | 2. New SLE70 tier A new tier for frontrunners achieving at least 70% energy savings. |
3. Streamlined maintainability Maintainability criteria are streamlined by about 60%, with greater focus on maintenance outcomes. | 4. Alternative Cooling Technologies Commercially viable ACTs are recognised under the energy section to encourage adoption of efficient cooling solutions. |
5. Portfolio certification Similar buildings can be grouped under a single “Parent” portfolio application, reducing repeated submissions. | 6. Extended 5-year validity Sustained performers that continue to meet their energy-use target may receive extended validity from 3 years to 5 years. |
BCA Energy Rating
GM v7.0 introduces an energy-only pathway with the following energy savings thresholds:

Implementation Roadmap
The current roadmap moves from industry co-creation to launch, followed by a transition period from GM:2021 to GM v7.0.
Phase | Status | What’s happening |
Phase 1 | Completed | Industry engagements from early 2025, with more than 30 pilot projects. |
Phase 2 | Current | More than 30 pilot projects have been completed and the GM v7.0 criteria have been fine-tuned. Planned launch at IBEW on 2 September 2026. |
Phase 3 | Upcoming | No new GM:2021 applications from 1 April 2027. All ongoing GM:2021 projects must be completed by the end of 2027. |
