With effect from 1st Jan 2016, companies applying for BCA Contractors Registration System (CRS) in CW01 and CW02 for grades B2, B1, A2 and A1 are required to obtain GGBS certification. If your company has the intention to upgrade to B2 – A1 grade, you are encouraged to submit your GGBS application early and present your company's on-going projects for GGBS assessment. Please note that GGBS assessment can only be performed on an on-going project in Singapore. You can obtain more information and apply for GGBS certification at http://www.bca.gov.sg/Awards/GGBA/builders_award.html OPTIONAL GREEN AND GRACIOUS BUILDER SCHEME FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM CONSTRUCTION FIRMS GGBS(SMC) If your company does not have the intention to upgrade to B2 – A1 grade, you are encouraged to participate in the optional GGBS (SMC). GGBS (SMC) is a customised GGBS that is suitable for SMCs and was launched in Apr 2014 to encourage such companies to adopt gracious construction practices. SMCs can adopt the best practices illustrated in the GGBS (SMC) Guide to help them overcome challenges faced in smaller projects and minimise the impact of their construction activities and dis-amenities to the public. It also enables them to collaborate with their GGBS-certified main contractor partners to further enhance the mitigating controls implemented at construction sites.
