Building Capabilities, Building for the Future

The built environment sector is deeply affected by global challenges posed by rapid urbanisation, ageing populations, and climate change. In Singapore, our firms have built up capabilities in Smart Townships, Healthcare Facilities and Built Environment Innovations to help address these challenges.

With rapid urbanisation and increasing purchasing power, there is demand for better infrastructure. Over the years, we have built up our capabilities in developing efficient townships—quality housing integrated with offices and shopping malls, supported by excellent infrastructure (transport, water, electricity and Internet connectivity)—through well-designed master planning.

As our population ages, there is a greater need for quality and affordable healthcare. To this end, we have designed and built different integrated healthcare facilities ranging from community hospitals and polyclinics to specialist centres and nursing homes in order to better meet the diverse and changing needs of our people.

To mitigate the effects of climate change, we have to ensure that our buildings are highly energy efficient. We have designed and built Green Buildings, leveraging on innovative and productive construction technologies. We aim to green 80% of our buildings by 2030.
