Requirements on Site Supervisors

All qualified site supervisors must be accredited with the Joint Accreditation Committee (JAC) of the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES).

Immediate supervision of structural works in small-scale building works

Value of building works

Site supervisor

Up to $7.5 million

Appropriate Qualified Person (QP) or resident engineer or resident technical officer

Full-time supervision of structural works in large building works

Value of building works

Minimum number of site supervisors for full-time supervision

More than $7.5 million but not exceeding $15 million

One (1) resident technical officer

More than $15 million but not exceeding $30 million

One (1) resident engineer

More than $30 million but not exceeding $75 million

One (1) resident engineer and one (1) resident technical officer

More than $75 million but not exceeding $150 million

One (1) resident engineer and two (2) resident technical officers

More than $150 million

Two (2) resident engineer and three (3) resident technical officers


Note:

"Value of building works" means:

  1. for any underground building works, the total cost to be expended in carrying out those building works estimated at the time of application
  2. for other building works, the total cost to be expended in carrying out the building works (including the foundations, basements, structural frame, finishes and the installation of building services) estimated at the time of application.
