As the industry steps up efforts to tap on site data collected for decision making, it becomes increasingly important for data collected to be standardised to enable interoperability, seamless data exchange and generation of insights for more informed decision-making.
While data is captured across various digital platforms, the lack of data standardisation creates significant hurdles such as data silos and process inefficiency:
- Contractors spend valuable time manually preparing multiple report formats for different stakeholders.
- Project data remains fragmented across different systems, limiting its potential value.
- Regulators and clients cannot generate meaningful insights from reports submitted in varied formats incompatible with machine processing.
The development of the
Site Management Data Standards is a crucial step forward in addressing the challenges faced by the industry in harnessing data locked in multiple digital platforms and solutions.
Developed in collaboration with industry partners, the Standards establish standardised data requirements across five key areas of project performance:
safety,
productivity,
quality,
time and
cost. This standardised approach serves both regulatory compliance and project delivery needs, enabling seamless data exchange between stakeholders and supporting data-driven decision-making across the Built Environment sector.
