Legal Requisition

You may obtain certain information (see below for details) in respect of a specific property in Singapore (“Property”), by applying to BCA for a legal requisition in respect of the Property.

How To Apply for Legal Requisition

You may submit your application for legal requisition for a Property through the Integrated Legal Requisition System (“InteReq”), if you subscribe to the InteReq.  Alternatively, if you have engaged a law firm to act for you, you may wish to check with the law firm if it subscribes to the InteReq. 

If you or the law firm representing you are not subscribed to InteReq, you may submit your application for legal requisition at the following locations:

Information needed for InteReq application

  • Property type and description; and
  • Complete address of the Property, or the specific land lot number if the complete address of the Property is not available.

Application Fee

$36 (inclusive of GST) per application for one Property (i.e. one address), or where the complete address of the Property is not available, $36 (inclusive of GST) per application for one specific land lot number.  Please note that the application fee will not be refunded after submission of the application.

Information Provided in Legal Requisition Reply in respect of Property

Subject to the information being available to BCA and the Explanatory Notes for Legal Requisition Reply, you will receive the following information in respect of the Property:

  • Status of the latest CSC/TOP/Plan Approval for the Property, including the main building and additions/alterations that are part of the Property.
  • Whether an Order that is still in force has been served in respect of the Property under Section 19 of the Building Control Act.
  • Whether there are any expenses owed to the Government in respect of the Property under Section 19 of the Building Control Act.
  • Whether an Order that is still in force has been served in respect of the Property under Section 24, Section 24A or Section 25 of the Building Control Act.
  • Whether there are any expenses owed to the Government in respect of the Property under Section 24, Section 24A or Section or 25 of the Building Control Act.
  • Whether a Notice that is still in force has been served in respect of the Property under Section 6 of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act.
  • Whether a Direction that is still in force has been served in respect of the Property under Section 7 of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act.
