Maintenance Control Plan (MCP)

MAINTENANCE CONTROL PLAN OF LIFTS (MCP)

Timely parts replacement and modernisation are critical in the life cycle maintenance of lifts to ensure their safety. MCP is a set of plans for the owner and contractor to develop together and use to manage the maintenance of their existing lifts, especially in the area of parts replacement and modernisation.

Guide for Implementing MCP

A guide is prepared to help the owner and contractor to prepare the MCP for their lifts. This guide consists of four key elements, including:

  1. Parts replacement criteria;
  2. Recommended modernisation items;
  3. Recommended checks for 5-yearly condition assessment;
  4. Information recommended to be captured in Logbook
With this guide, the contractor and owner can work with the manufacturer to further develop and implement a tailored MCP for each of their lifts.
